Who i am

My Mission

Is to teach my nursing colleagues how to become financially free by sharing the lessons I learned.

My nurse friend retired several years ago. She’s been traveling so frequently that her bag is never unpacked.

She told me that she attended a class I taught twenty years ago on managing your personal finance. After attending my class, she contributed the maximum to her retirement plan and retired early.

When she visited me, she said I was the reason for her adventurous retirement.

I had forgotten that I had taught this class so long ago. I’ve been teaching and mentoring my nursing colleagues my entire career primarily about nursing. I realized I haven’t done enough to teach them about how to make their hard earned money work for them.

Who this site is for:

This website is for nurses, healthcare professionals and others who want to make their hard earned income work for them. It’s for those who want to maximize their earnings so they can reap the benefits of traveling and living lavishly. It’s for people who want to become financially secure and not have to worry about their money running out after they retire.

The contents I wrote are from my own experience. They are lessons I learned after agonizing over them. Nurses are the worst at asking for help. We are the helpers; we don’t want to burden anyone and do not know how to be the helpees. This is why I love them and want to help.

FINANCIAL THINGS ABOUT ME

  • I spend less than I earn so I’m able to pay off my credit card bills in entirety every month.
  • Unlike Dave Ramsey, I do use my credit cards.
  • I save 20% of my net income, which includes contributing the maximum amount into my retirement account.
  • I know that my retirement account will support “retire in style” lifestyle which is drinking really good wine.
  • My real estate holding has at least 30% in equity.
  • Real estate is my favorite building wealth vehicle.
  • I do long flips; i.e. buy a house, live in it for 10 years and sell it for a profit.
  • I have six months of emergency money if I lost my job today.
  • Emergencies don’t send me into a panic mode. Well, only a little.
  • I don’t fight with anyone about money.
  • I can be generous with what I want, which is to treat my family and travel.
  • I’m comfortable and satisfied with my financial outlook.

NON-FINANCIAL THINGS ABOUT ME

  • I intend to travel to all 52 states and visit every single national park. I’ve only been to 24 states.
  • I love wine.
  • I love to garden.
  • I am the second oldest in four, three girls and one boy. My mother would have continued to give births if my baby brother wasn’t born.
  • I love my Mom. She is 83 years old and my favorite traveling partner.
  • I was born in Korea and immigrated to USA when I was 10.
  • I live in Los Angeles; View Park, really but no one knows where that is.
  • I love funny people.
  • I have one daughter who is tall and pretty.
  • I’m divorced and raised my daughter as a single Mom.
  • I’m a minimalist.
